Shipping & Returns
How orders ship and what happens if something arrives damaged.

Shipping
All books are tracked, packed and dispatched from Byron Bay, NSW. We aim to dispatch within 1–2 business days of receiving your order.
Rates by zone
Shipping is calculated automatically at checkout based on your delivery address:
- Australia — A$10.95
- New Zealand — A$17.95
- United Kingdom & United States — A$26.95
- Rest of world — A$32.95
Up to two books fit comfortably in a single padded mailer, so the flat rate covers one or two copies. For larger orders, please use the wholesale form.
Estimated delivery times
Once dispatched, via Australia Post:
- Australia · 2–7 business days
- New Zealand · 6–12 business days
- UK / US · 8–18 business days
- Rest of world · 10–25 business days
These are estimates and may vary during busy periods or due to customs processing in destination countries.
Tracking
You'll receive a tracking number by email once your parcel is on its way. International orders are tracked to destination where the destination postal service supports tracking.
Customs & duties
International customers are responsible for any customs duties or import taxes charged by their country. These are not included in the shipping rate and are determined by your country's customs authority.
Lost or delayed parcels
If your order hasn't arrived within the estimated window, get in touch at hello@byronbaybook.com.au with your order number and we'll look into it.
Returns & Refunds
We take care in producing and packaging each book. If something arrives damaged, we'll make it right.
Damaged items only
We only accept returns for items that arrive damaged or defective. We do not offer returns for change of mind.
Timeframe
Please contact us within 7 days of delivery to request a return or replacement.
Condition
Books may be opened for inspection, but must remain in unused, as-new condition. We may decline returns if the item shows signs of use, wear, or additional damage after delivery.
Proof of damage
To process your request, we require clear photo evidence of the damage, including:
- the item
- the packaging
- any visible faults
Return shipping
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend using a tracked service, as we are not responsible for items lost in transit.
Refunds & replacements
Once your return is approved, we will offer either:
- a replacement, or
- a refund to your original payment method (processed via Stripe)
Please note:
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable
- We do not offer both a refund and replacement for the same order
How to start a return
Email us at hello@byronbaybook.com.au with your order number, a description of the issue, and photos of the damage.
